The Woodlake location is open throughout the night. The evacuation shelter location is at the Woodlake Community Center at 145 N. UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: An evacuation warning was issued for all structures and areas within Edison Drive, Cherokee Oaks Drive, Crystal Drive, Grouse Drive, Elk Drive, Meadow Drive, Quail Drive, Oak Ridge Drive, Ferndale Drive, Terminus Drive, Pierce Drive, and Red Tail Lane. "It's probably going to get a little worse before it gets better," a Cal Fire spokesman said during the public meeting. A Type 2 team arrived today and was absorbed into operations. Residents added that the county alert system is not working, saying many didn't get text alert to leave the area.Ī Type 1 Incident Command team - an elite team reserved for the nation's most complicated blazes - will arrive by the end of the week. Some parts of the town are already under orders to evacuate. The ranger added that the fire could reach Three Rivers in the comings days and firefighters will need to use Highway 198 to access the fire. UPDATE 5:30 p.m.: Park officials said during a public meeting that communications in the park have been cut because the fire scorched a repeater. Some of the buildings we have will be falling apart in 30 years. And so we want people to come 300 years from now to enjoy those trees. “Within the park, some of those trees are more important than some of our buildings," Superintendent Clay Jordan said. "People come from around the world to see the General Sherman tree, and that's been here for almost 3,000 years. Park officials added that some of their efforts will focus on trees, leaving buildings behind. Hotels are filling up fast and Three Rivers hotels will house firefighters battling the blazes.
